Let x= the width


3x-2=length

(because the length is 2 meters less than 3 times the width)

Step 2

The perimeter of a rectangle is given as;


\begin{gathered} P=2length+2width \\ P=2(3x-2)+2x \\ P=60 \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} 60=6x-4+2x \\ 60=8x-4 \\ 60+4=8x \\ x=8m \end{gathered}

Answer;


Width=8m
