The equation is:


\begin{gathered} -2(k-5)+2k=5k+5 \\ \end{gathered}

We can distribute the -2 into the parenthesis


\begin{gathered} -2k+10+2k=5k+5 \\ 10=5k+5 \\ \end{gathered}

now we solve for k


\begin{gathered} 10-5=5k \\ 5=5k \\ (5)/(5)=k \\ 1=k \end{gathered}
