Martha drove her car east for a total of 9 hours at a constant velocity. In one-third of that time, she drove 180 kilometers. What was her velocity?

time = one third of 9 hours = 1/3 x 9 = 3 hours

Distance = 180 km

Velocity = Distance / time

Replacing:

V = 180 km/3 h = 60 km per h
