What is a shared theme between "I Am Black" and "Code Switching in a Language Rich World"?

Being able to code switch means one has mastered language.

Adopting another culture's label can make someone feel like they are losing their identity.

Maintaining one's history and culture is important to personal identity.

Language affects how we see ourselves and how others see us.

They both deal with the idea of identity and one is more personal and more meaningful than the one with just the facts.
