To find the length of DE,

Here D = (-5,-2) and E = (-5,4).

Hence the distance is given by


DE=\sqrt[]{(-5+5)^2+(4+2)^2}

On simplifying,


\begin{gathered} DE=\sqrt[]{6^2} \\ DE=6 \end{gathered}

Hence the length of DE is 6 units
