\begin{gathered} \text{The general slope-intercept form of a line is:} \\ y=mx+b \\ \text{Where m is the slope and b is the value of y-intercept} \end{gathered}

In this case, m=-3/4 and evaluating the point (-4, 6) we can find the value of b:


\begin{gathered} \text{With m=-3/4 and the point (x, y) = (-4, 6):} \\ 6=-(3)/(4)(-4)+b \\ 6=3+b \\ b=6-3 \\ b=3 \end{gathered}
