graph a right triangle with the two points forming the hypotenuse . using the sides find the distance between two points, to the nearest tenth.(-5,-3) and (4,-1)

see the attached figure

Find out the distance, using the sides

Applying the Pythagorean Theorem

c^2=a^2+b^2

a=4-(-5)=4+5=9 units

b=-1-(-3)=-1+3=2 units

c^2=9^2+2^2

c^2=81+4

c^2=85

c=√85

c=9.2 units
