The answer is -1 or -3

Explanation:

You woud use the quadritic formula

$x=\frac{ -b+- \sqrt{b^(2) -4ac} \\}{2a}$

$x=(-24 +- √(576-432) )/(12) \\$

x=(-24+- √(144) )/(12)

$x=(-24+12)/(12)\\\\x=(-12)/(12) \\x = -1$

$x=(-24-12)/(12) \\\\x= (-36)/(12) \\\\x= -3$

To get the answer of -1 or -3
