if you walk 200 meters in 1 minute, 400 meters in 4 minutes and 800 meters in 10 minutes find your average velocity for the whole walk

First, calculate each velocity:


v=(distance)/(time)

so:


v1=(200m)/(1min)
v2=(400m)/(4min)=(100m)/(min)
v3=(800m)/(10min)=(80m)/(min)

Now calculate the average between the 3 velocities:


av\text{ }v=(200+100+80)/(3)=(126.67m)/(min)

The answer is 126.67 m per minute.
