-5 > 5 + x/3 I am so confused on these things

Let's solve the inequality:


\begin{gathered} -5>5+(x)/(3) \\ -5-5>(x)/(3) \\ -10>(x)/(3) \\ -10\cdot3>x \\ -30>x \\ x<-30 \end{gathered}

Therefore the solution for the inequality is:


x<-30

In interval form this solution is written as:


(-\infty,-30)

This means that x has to be less than -30 for the inequality to be true.
