How do you solve a two step equation in algebra

HI,

1) Begin by adding or subtracting the same amount on both sides of the linear equation.
2) Next, divide or multiply both sides of the linear equation by the same integer.
3)Always multiply both sides of the equation by the reciprocal of the variable's coefficient, instead of step #2.
