We have the expression:

x(2x-y)

It can be thougth as the area of a rectangle with sides x and (2x-y).

We can also think of the the difference between an area of a rectangle with sides x and 2x and a rectangle with sides x and y:

x(2x-y)=x\cdot2x-x\cdot y=2x^2-xy

Answer: x(2x-y) = 2x^2-xy
