We are asked to dilate the given two points.

P(3, 4) by a scale factor of k = 1/2

Multiply the x and y coordinates by the scale factor.

P(3,4)\rightarrow P^(\prime)((1)/(2)\cdot3,4\cdot(1)/(2))=P^(\prime)(1.5,2)

Therefore, the dilated point is P'(1.5, 2)

This is an example of reduction.

Similarly,

N(4, 15) by a scale factor of k = 2

Multiply the x and y coordinates by the scale factor.

N(4,15)\rightarrow N^(\prime)(2\cdot4,2\cdot15)=N^(\prime)(8,30)

Therefore, the dilated point is N'(8, 30)

This is an example of enlargement.
