Explanation:

let -4x+y=-1 be [1]

and y=2x-5 be [2]

Sub [2] into [1]

-4x+(2x-5)=-1

-4x + 2x -5 = -1

-2x -5 = -1

-2x = 4

2x = -4

x = -2

Sub x=-2 into [2]

y=2(-2)-5

y=-4-5

y=-9
