The y-intercept of a function is the point where the function crosses the y axis and where x = 0

\begin{gathered} We\text{ are asked to find the y intercept of an exponential function, y = a*b}^x \\ When\text{ x = 0, b}^x\text{ =1 for any value of b} \\ We\text{ are then left with y = a*1 when x =0} \end{gathered}

The y intercept is therefore given by:

(0,a) --> option B
