The children's section is rectangular and has three of its corners at (-10, 10), (-10, 4), and (-3, 10). What is the area of the children's section, in square feet? Explain how you got your answer please!

also this is all the info I can give you on this i didn't get any other info but if its not enough info then please don't answer

Answer:

42 sq units.

Explanation:

for the rectange on the co ordinate plane the given vertices are

(-10,10), (-10,4), (-3,10)

here 3 vertices are given. we have to find out the 4th vertex.

to find out the 4th vertes :

first thing is rectangle is 4 sided 90 deg figure.

so the 4th vertex should be (-3,4)

lest see on graph:

point (-10,10), (-10,4) this make one line

point (-3,10) connect (-10,10) to (-3,10)

then draw a line from (-3,10) to downward upto (-3,4) as (-10,4) is another side vertex.

now join (-10,4) with ( -3,4)

now our rectangle is complete.

let's see the measures;

(-10,10)----(-3,10) = 7 units ---- l

(-10,4)-----(-10,10)= 6 units ---- b

in the same way we have other 6 and units

now the area of the rectangle is (l x b )

= 7x6 = 42 sqare units.
