The notation "-a" in math means "the opposite of a." Therefore, whatever the value of a is, we are supposed to give for answer what the opposite of the number is.

In our case since a = -4.6, its oposite is the number that resides on the opposite side from zero at the same distance that -4.6 is from zero, and that is the number + 4.6
