Solution

- The formula for the relative frequency of an event is:


\begin{gathered} rf=(f)/(n) \\ where, \\ f=\text{ the number of times an event occurred in the observation} \\ n=\text{ the total frequencies} \end{gathered}

- The number of times that 1 occurs in the dataset is 8 times.

- Thus, the number of times the event of spinning a "1" is 8. i.e. f = 8.

- We are told that the spinning takes place 21 times. Thus, n = 21.

- Therefore, the relative frequency of spinning the number 1 is:


rf=(8)/(21)
