The length of a rectangle is 7 inches longer than the width (x).

Which is the area (y) when the width (x) is 14 inches?

we know that

The area of rectangle is equal to

A=LW

we have that

L=W+7

so

when the value of W=14 in

substitute

L=14+7=21 in

Find the area

A=(21)(14)=294 in^2

therefore

the answer is

294 square inches
