Let's add the like terms in the 2nd expression:


\begin{gathered} (4)/(10)x-1x+1(7)/(10)x+1(1)/(10)x \\ =(4)/(10)x-(10)/(10)x+(17)/(10)x+(11)/(10)x \\ =(22)/(10)x \\ =(11)/(5)x \end{gathered}
