Given the equation of the parabola:


y=(1)/(2)x^2-4

We will graph the parabola as follows:

Specify the vertex then draw 2 points to the left of the vertex and 2 points to the right of the vertex

The vertex of the given parabola = (0, -4)

We will find the value of (y) when x = -4, -2, 2, 4

So,

When x = -4 ⇒ y = 4

When x = -2 ⇒ y = -2

The vertex when x = 0 ⇒ y = -4

When x = 2 ⇒ y = -2

When x = 4 ⇒ y = 4

So, the points on the left of the vertex are (-4, 4) and (-2, -2)

The points on the right of the vertex are (2, -2) and (4, -4)
