From the graph the area of the polygon Q is 4.5 square units.

The area of polygon P is 72.

The ratio of area of polygon is equal to the square of scale factor. So,

\begin{gathered} (4.5)/(72)=m^2 \\ m=\sqrt[]{(1)/(16)} \\ =(1)/(4) \\ =0.25 \end{gathered}

So scale factor Diego used to go from polygon P to Q is 0.25 or 1/4.

Answer: 1/4 or 0.25
