Answer the following questions True or False. Any number added to zero will retain or keep its value. 3 + 0 = 3 7 + 0 = 9 Zero is the additive identity. Any number multiplied to 1 will retain or keep its value 14 x 1 = 14 16 x 1 = 19 One is the multiplicative identity. 3 ÷ 4 = 3/4  a ÷ b = a/b, except when b is zero or in other words  a ÷ b = a/b, b ≠ 0 BONUS: The commutative property states that addends can be added in any order and their sum will be the same.

Let's answer the following questions:

1) Any number added to zero will retain or keep its value: True

Using the addition property of zero which states that for any number added to zero, the number will remain the same.

2) 3 + 0 = 3: True

Addition property of zero

3) 7 + 0 = 9: False

7 + 0 = 7

4) Zero is the additive identity: True

Additive identity is a number that when is added to any other number the result gives the number itself. Therefore zero is the additive identity.

5) Any number multiplied to 1 will retain or keep its value: True

Using the identity property of 1 which states that any number multiplied by 1 keeps its identity.

6) 14 x 1 = 14: True

7) 16 x 1 = 19: False

16 x 1 = 16

8) One is the multiplicative identity: True

9) 3 ÷ 4 = 3/4 a ÷ b = a/b, except when b is zero or in other words a ÷ b = a/b, b ≠ 0:

True
