Inverse property of addition:
This property states that when you add any real number with its additive inverse then the result is zero.
Let x be a real number.
The additive inverse of x is -x
![x+(-x)=0](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/college/4w5uhumgy96zkx5jstu6fithgsg6tojobn.png)
Example:
Let us consider a real number 5
The additive inverse of 5 is -5
So, as per inverse property of addition,
![5+(-5)=0](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/college/flh97d34g1gg9h876of5w1rm1c9usi3obr.png)
Similarly, let us consider a real number 1.33
The additive inverse of 1.33 is -1.33
So, as per inverse property of addition,
![1.33+(-1.33)=0](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/college/fl45j38xrufnjfnb1s9bczrpitle6iq12j.png)
Therefore, the sum of any real number with its inverse results in zero.
