(9)/(8)>(x)/(2)

we must solve x, so remove the 2 on the denominator multipliying on both sides by 2

\begin{gathered} (9)/(8)*2>(x)/(2)*2 \\ \\ (18)/(8)>x \\ \\ (9)/(4)>x \\ \\ x<(9)/(4) \end{gathered}

x values must be less than 9/4
