This can be found as shown below:


\begin{gathered} \sqrt[]{48} \\ =\sqrt[]{16*3} \\ =\sqrt[]{16}*\sqrt[]{3} \\ =4\sqrt[]{3} \end{gathered}

Let us check for root 3 from the square root table


\sqrt[]{3}=1.732

Therefore,


\begin{gathered} 4\sqrt[]{3} \\ =4*1.732 \\ =6.928 \\ \approx6.9(nearest\text{ tenth)} \end{gathered}
