y < -3x-1

To graph this inequality, first graph the line:

y = -3x -1

which is a line with a slope -3 and a y-intercept of -1.

This line must be a dotted line because is not part of the solution of the inequality.

Next, you have to find a point that is or isn't a solution of the inequality. Replacing with point (0,0), we get:

0 < -3(0) - 1

0 < -1
