Exponential Equations

Solve for x:

13=25(1.2)^x

Dividing by 25:

(13)/(25)=1.2^x

Applying logs on both sides of the equation:

log(13)/(25)=log1.2^x

Applying the power property of logarithms:

log(13)/(25)=xlog1.2

Dividing by log 1.2:

x=(log(13)/(25))/(log1.2)

Calculating:

x = -3.587
