The number of solutions for f(x) = 0 is equal to the number of time the graph crosses the x-axis, therefore, since the graph of A crosses the x-axis two tiemes, then f(x) = 0 has two solutions, since in graph B the graph crosses the x-axis only once f(x) has one solution and since graph C does not cross the x-axis f(x) has no solution.
