You're trying to cut an 5x12 in rectangle for your house model. You're aresponsible builder who measures twice before cutting, so you measure adiagonal and find that it is 13 in long. Are the corners square? How do you know?

Given,

The dimension of the rectangle is 5 in x 12 in.

The diagonal of the rectangle is 13 in.

The diagram of the rectangle is,

By the pythorus theorem,

\begin{gathered} \text{Diagonal}^2=\text{bread}th^2+\text{length}^2 \\ 13^2=5^2+12^2 \\ 169=25+144 \\ 169=169 \end{gathered}

Yes the corners of the recatngle are square by the pythagorus theorem.
