In order to find the distance in between the given points, use the following formula:

d=\sqrt[]{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

where (x1,y1) = (-8,0) and (x2,y2) = (1,4).

Replace the values of the previous points in the formula for d:

\begin{gathered} d=\sqrt[]{(1-(-8))^2+(4-0)^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{(9)^2+(4)^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{81+16} \\ d=\sqrt[]{97}\approx9.84 \end{gathered}

Hence, the distance in between the given points J and K is approximately 9.84
