Let three be (x - 1), x and (x + 1).

The sum of three consecutive number is x, means that

\begin{gathered} x-1+x+x+1=147 \\ 3x=147 \\ x=(147)/(3) \\ =49 \end{gathered}

The value of x is 49.

Determine the two numbers.

\begin{gathered} x-1=49-1 \\ =48 \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} x+1=49+1 \\ =50 \end{gathered}

So three consecutive numbers are 48, 49 and 50.
