Applying the Pythagorean Theorem

we have

AB^2=AD^2+BD^2

substitute given values


(2\sqrt[\square]{15})^2=(5\sqrt[\square]{2})^2+BD^2

solve for BD


\begin{gathered} 60=50+BD^2 \\ BD^2=60-50 \\ BD^2=10 \\ BD=\sqrt[\square]{10} \end{gathered}
