Given:-

With a tailwind, a aircraft can fly 672 miles in 3 hours. Against this same wind, the aircraft can fly the same distance in 4 hours.

To find:-

The effect of the wind and the average airspeed of the aircraft.

So now we average speed of aircraft is,

\begin{gathered} (672)/(3)=\frac{224\operatorname{km}}{hr},(672)/(4)=\frac{168\operatorname{km}}{hr} \\ \end{gathered}

So now the average speed of the aircraft is,

(224+168)/(2)=(392)/(2)=\frac{196\operatorname{km}}{hr}

So the average speed of the aircraft is 196km/hr

So now the wind speed difference is,

196-28=168,196+28=224

So the wind speed difference is 28km/hr
