(6^(-1))(4^(-2))

1. Use the next rule of oxponents to rewrite the expression:

a^(-n)=(1)/(a^n)
=((1)/(6^1))((1)/(4^2))

2. Solve each exponent:

=((1)/(6))((1)/(16))

3. Multiply the fractions:

\begin{gathered} =(1*1)/(6*16) \\ \\ =(1)/(96) \end{gathered}

Then the given product is equal to 1/96 (or 96^-1)
