The expansion is,


\sqrt[]{18x^4y^5}=\sqrt[]{2*3*3* x* x* x* x* y* y* y* y* y}

On simplification we get,


\begin{gathered} =\sqrt[]{2*3^2* x^2* x^2* y^2* y^2* y} \\ =3x^2y^2\sqrt[]{2y} \end{gathered}

Hence, Leslie was correct.
