by definition the standar deviation is the square root of the variance


s=\sqrt[]{s^2}

if you have the standrar deviation you should do the opposite


(s)^2=s^2

replacing in the formula


\begin{gathered} s^2=(9.4)^2 \\ s^2=88.36 \\ s^2\approx88.4 \end{gathered}

the variance is 88.4 aproximately
