Given:

Number of pets = 20

60% are dogs

3 of the dogs have black fur

The number of dogs is:

\begin{gathered} =60\text{ \% of 20} \\ =(60)/(100)*\text{ 20} \\ =\text{ 12 dogs} \end{gathered}

The percentage of Amy's dogs that have black fur is:

=\text{ }\frac{\text{Number of dogs that have a black fur}}{Total\text{ number of dogs}}*\text{ 100 \%}

Substituting we have:

\begin{gathered} =\text{ }(3)/(12)*\text{ 100 \%} \\ =\text{ 25\%} \end{gathered}

Hence, the percentage of dogs that have black fur is 25%

Answer: 25%
