SOLUTION

Consider the graph shown:

From the graph the equation is:


\begin{gathered} y-9.1=(6.3-9.1)/(3.5-0.9)(x-0.9) \\ y-9.1=-1.07(x-0.9) \\ y=-1.07x+10.06 \end{gathered}

Therefore the approximate equation is:


y=-1.07x+10.06

Substitute x=4 into the equation:


\begin{gathered} y=-1.07(4)+10.06 \\ y=5.72 \end{gathered}
