In order to solve the equation "3x + 8 = 14", we need to isolate the variable x on one side of the equation.

To do so, first we need to put all terms with x on one side and all terms without x on the other side.

Since number 8 doesn't have an x, it should go to the right side of the equation.

To "move" it to the other side, we can subtract 8 from both sides of the equation, this way the number 8 on the left side will be canceled:

\begin{gathered} 3x+8=14\\ \\ 3x+8-8=14-8 \end{gathered}

This equation can be written as "3 x plus 8 minus 8 equals 14 minus 8".

Therefore the correct option is the third one.
