n and n+2

The sum of two consecutive odd numbers


n+(n+2)

the sum of two consecutive odd numbers is 72:


n+(n+2)=72

Use this equation to find the value of n:


\begin{gathered} n+n+2=72 \\ 2n+2=72 \\ 2n=72-2 \\ 2n=70 \\ n=(70)/(2) \\ \\ n=35 \end{gathered}As n is 35. The consecutive odd numbers are: 35 and 37

n=35

n+2=35+2=37
