Evaluate for the following values of y

The procedure here, for each "evaluation", is broken down into three parts:

1. to get rid of the minus signs,

2. to solve the resulting sum as usual (for the decimal number case), and

3. adding a minus to the result of the second step.

Note: This can be done for the values of y are all negative and -15.85 is negative.

y=-63.06) Step one gives us:


15.85+63.06

Step two gives us:


15.85+63.06=78.91

And finally, step three gives us:


-78.91

y=-84.703) Step one gives us:


15.85+84.703

Step two gives us:


15.85+84.703=100.553

And step three gives us:


-100.553

y=-8.115) Step one gives us:


15.85+8.115

Step two gives us:


15.85+8.115=23.965

And step three gives us:


-23.965

Comment: Don't forget to add the minus sign at the end.
