Answer:

x = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to solve

(1)/(3)\mleft(6x-5\mright)-x=(1)/(3)-2(x+1)

for x.

Now expanding both sides gives

(6x)/(3)-(5)/(3)-x=(1)/(3)-2x-2

now further simplification gives

((6)/(3)x-x)-(5)/(3)=(1)/(3)-2x-2
\Rightarrow x-(5)/(3)=(1)/(3)-2x-2

Now adding 5/3 to both sides gives

x=(1)/(3)-2x-2+(5)/(3)

then adding 2x to both sides gives

x+2x=(1)/(3)+(5)/(3)-2
\Rightarrow3x=(6)/(3)-2
3x=2-2
3x=0
\Rightarrow\boxed{x=0}

which is our answer!
