Answer is (b) 114.24 in.^2

Step by step

We have three figures here.

Let’s start with the square.

Area of a square is S x S

The sides are 8 x 8 = 64 in.^2

Now for the semi circles

Both semi circles have a diameter of 8, so the radius is 1/2 of diameter. Radius is 4.
Since we have two congruent semi circles that equal to a full circle, we will find the area of a full circle.

Formula for area of a circle is A= TT r^2

A = 3.14 x 4^2

A = 50.24 in.^2

Add the figures together

50.24 + 64 = 114.24 in.^2

Answer is c

8x8=64
1/2(3.14x8^2)=100.48
100.48x2=200.96
200.96+64=264.96
