y²-12y + 35 = 0

y² - 12y = -35

y²-12y + 36 = -35 + 36

(y-6)² = 1

y-6 = ± 1

y-6 = -1

y = -1 + 6

y = 5


y-6 = 1

y = 1+6

y = 7


y = 5 and y = 7
