Given that f(-2) = 2 and f(4) = 14, find the
values of a and b.

a = 1, b = -2

Explanation:


a {( - 2)}^(2) + b = 2


a( {4}^(2) ) + b = 14

4a + b = 2

16a + b = 14

12a = 12

a = 1, and so b = -2
