The area of the shaded region is 212.5 cm²

The area of the shaded region is :

  • Area of rectangle- Area of triangle

The area of the rectangle is:

  • Length × width

Area of rectangle = 14 × 25 = 350 cm²

Area of triangle is calculated using the formula:

  • 1/2 × base × height

Area of triangle = 0.5 × 12.5 × 11 = 68.75 cm²

For the 2 triangles: (2 × 68.75) = 137.5 cm²

The area of the shaded region = (350 - 137.5) = 212.5 cm²
