FOR PERPENDICULAR LINES THE PRODUCT OF THEIR GRADIENTS IS -1 MEANING IF WE ARW GIVEN THAT THE GRADIENT OF THE OTHER LINE IS -2 THE GRADIENT OF THE LINE PERPENDICULAR TO IT WILL BE

- 2 * m = - 1 \\ \\ - 2m = - 1 \\ ( - 2m)/( - 2) = ( - 1)/( - 2) \\ m = (1)/(2)

THE GENERAL EQUATION OF A STRAIGHT LINE IS Y=MX+C

LET US FIND THE VALUE OF C USING THE POINT GIVEN

- 3 = (1)/(2) (2) + c \\ - 3 = 1 + c \\ c = - 3 - 1 \\ c = - 4

THE EQUATION IS

y = (1)/(2) x - 4

GOODLUCK!
