The line is parallel, so the slope must be the same.

Use the slope line formula to find the slope and substitute the points of Line A.

-2-(-8) / 1-(-7)

The slope is -5/4.

Now, use y = mx + b to find the the equation for Line B.

Substitute the known and solve for the y-intercept.

-6 = -5/4(4) + b

b = -1

The equation of B is:

y = -5/4x - 1

You can check it's true by plugging in the equation in a graphing calculator. Hope this helps.
