Birthday Cards for our Los Al Elderly
Living in a nursing home can sometimes feel lonely and isolating. Not all of the elderly in our community have families caring for them or visiting, and this can lead to people feeling forgotten. You are invited to write a kind birthday message to an elderly person in Los Alamitos who may be in need of a little birthday love.
Try starting your message with “Dear Friend.” Even if you don't know your reader by name, starting with “Dear Friend” will make them feel special and cared for.
Introduce yourself and tell them a bit about you (name, age, where you go to school, city you live in).
Wish them happy birthday and say things like "wishing you a day filled with love and sunshine." Or you could write them a simple birthday poem.
Share more information about you (what you like to do, what you want to be when you grow up, hobbies, sports, pets, favorite subjects in school, etc).
Wish them well and let them know you care about them. Then sign off by saying "Your friend" followed by your first and last name, McAuliffe, and your age.
Type your message below. ASB will put your words into a fun birthday card and deliver it to a senior citizen at a local nursing home. You may also handwrite your letter and submit it to our basket in the Main Office. Thank you so much for participating and making someone's day! :)
